Protect NSW Marine Parks

The NSW Government is introducing a new approach to managing our marine parks across the state.

In 2019, they removed critical no-take sanctuary protections in six sanctuary zones in Batemans Marine Park.

The decision was made without consultation with the community, scientists or the local Traditional Owners, and then they announced plans to do the same in other NSW marine parks!

NSW marine parks are recognised globally for their beauty, heritage, and the important role they play in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems.

Our community deserves transparent and equitable consultation on how our marine parks are managed to protect our incredible marine life.

Marine parks in NSW are jointly managed by Minister Matt Kean (Environment) and Minister Adam Marshall (Fisheries).

Send them a message that they must prioritise protection and fair process.
