Do you know what’s Absolutely Fabulous? World famous British actress and renowned environmental advocate Joanna Lumley has sent a message of support for our Great Barrier Reef.
The AMCS’s Fight for our Reef campaign is thrilled that such a high profile celebrity is drawing attention to the issues our Reef faces from global warming.
We have the solutions to these issues and, like Joanna, we must use our voices to push our political leaders to deliver jobs-rich renewable energy projects over and above dirty fossil fuel developments.
Joanna’s message:
The short term focus is on ridding the world of Covid 19: the long term crisis, which must not be kicked into the long grass, is the catastrophic destruction of one of the world’s greatest wonders, The Great Barrier Reef.
Our indifference to the health of our environment could destroy the planet through climate change and utter indifference. Our seeming inability to understand that humans are only part of a massive network will be our undoing.
With all my heart I am backing the Australian Marine Conservation Society in their work to save this irreplaceable Reef. Given a chance, it will recover: we must be the ones to reverse the harm done already, and protect this marine miracle for the future of all life on earth.
