Ned Bible

Dr Vanessa (Ned) Bible
Ned has been campaigning for social and environmental justice issues her whole life. Passionate about the Earth and all life on it, Ned grew up in country and coastal NSW, camping and wandering through the bush, and wanted to be a marine biologist when she was a kid. Instead, she pursued the humanities, with a PhD in the environmental humanities, and a ten-year career as a lecturer, teaching activist history, environmental peace, nonviolence, and climate activism. Ned engaged in community-based activism while balancing her career, bridging theory and practice, but she has recently left the academic world behind to devote more of her time to environmental campaigning
on a full-time basis. Coming full-circle, Ned has moved to Larrakia Country (Darwin) and has returned to the oceans to fight for what matters most – protecting our only home.
