Join us at Stone & Wood to celebrate our local marine sanctuary and share some stoke about our salty backyard with live music, short films and a discussion panel.
Supported by Patagonia Byron, this event will be a community gathering of ocean lovers – we’ll share some discussions, hear from experts, chat to local change-makers & researchers, drink delicious ocean-inspired beer and toast to our awesome blue planet. This event is co-hosted by Australian Marine Conservation Society & National Parks Association.
We’ll be joined by representatives from organisations that are actively working to protect our local environment – AMCS together with Green Heroes, Australian Seabird & Turtle Rescue and Dolphin Research Australia.
The event is all about our local marine environment & the Cape Byron Marine Park – what makes it so great, the launch of a Hope Spot in northern NSW, and how we can all ensure its protection into the future. Our expert panel will discuss our sanctuary, threats, and opportunities for all of us to be part of regenerating and conserving our coastline.
This event is kid-friendly & to encourage future ocean ambassadors along, we’ve got a kid’s craft corner from 4-5pm. There’ll be live music from 5pm alongside beautiful short films celebrating our ocean by Craig Parry & Morgan Maasen, and a panel from 6pm. The kitchen will be open for food, and Stone & Wood will be specially brewing us up an ocean-inspired beer!
Come along to be part of this salty gathering, be inspired, and learn more about how we can all be better custodians for our ocean & local marine environment.
