Australian waters are home to 322 species of sharks and rays, half of which are found nowhere else in the world. Yet most people don’t realise that one third of all sharks and rays face the threat of extinction.
Around the world, at least 65 million sharks and rays are killed each year. Yet our sharks are critical to marine food webs and reef health. A healthy and vibrant ocean needs sharks.
These posters highlight some of Australia’s unique and lesser-known species, illustrating just how amazingly rich our waters are. Use these posters to learn more about these incredible animals, raise awareness, and support solutions that will help protect them for the future.
